Frequently Asked Questions

What is Oasis® made of?

Oasis® grower foam is a phonolic foam widely used in many industies including the horticulture, floral and building insulation.

The performance of these media is due, part, to the unique cell structure which closely resembles the cellular structure of the plant itself. The composition of the foams gives density (weight) for holding power and capillary action for feeding water to inserted cuttings.

Why should I use these products?

Oasis® can be used for any seeding or propagating. These media offer the following advantages:

  • Optimal balance of air and water
  • Low cation exchange capacity allows rapid nutrient availability without danger of salt accumulation
  • Stabilized pH

Oasis® Growing Media are inert and, when received, are free of pathogenic organisms and require no further sterilization. In addition, the product offers the grower these important benefits:

  • The elimination of soil/media mixing
  • Increased productivity through easier handling, bench layout and sticking
  • Positive stability of cuttings on the bench
  • Improved uniformity of rooting due to media consistency
  • Rapid transplant "takeoff"
